Welcome to Capitol Commission Texas,

What a blessing and privilege it is to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in the great state of Texas!

Only the Gospel of Jesus Christ can bring genuine change to any culture. The cause of Christ is not advanced by making laws, but by making disciples. And yet God has communicated that leaders, and in our case those who do make the laws of our state of Texas, should be capable and lead in a God-honoring manner. So our heart and desire is to see our leaders become and continue to be followers of Jesus Christ.

But just as important, God has called the rest of us to seek to impact our leaders by praying for them and by being genuinely thankful for them. (1 Timothy 2:1-4, see www.pray1tim2.org/states/tx )

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

The responsibility our leaders have is overwhelming at times. And it is an honor to come alongside them to encourage them and let them know that we are truly thankful for them.

And in this environment of genuine concern and thankfulness, we are able to share the hope that is within us with gentleness and respect. (1 Peter 3:15)

I hope that you will be encouraged to know that Capitol Commission is in your state capitol. And I hope that you will consider joining us in the ministry of making disciples in the political arena–the passionate purpose of Capitol Commission.
