Dr. Bert Jones serves as Capitol Commission’s North Carolina State Minister. Bert is a North Carolina native, the husband of Susan since 1991, and father of their grown children David and Caroline. Having served in church leadership many years, he serves as one of the non-vocational pastor/elders in his local church. Primarily a dentist by profession, he also brings many practical career experiences to this position.

Born to Christian parents who taught him about God and took him to church, Bert accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at age eight. He continued to grow in his faith during his youth and college years, which included several leadership opportunities, including with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes ministry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Bert has enjoyed studying the Bible for many years. In time he began teaching Sunday school and leading Bible studies before becoming one of the preachers in his local church. He was introduced to Capitol Commission during his eight years of service in the state legislature, and loved it. After his prayerful decision to retire from the legislature, he was humbled and honored to have the opportunity to lead the Capitol Commission ministry in North Carolina.
