About Capitol Commission

Bringing Christ to the Capitol, one leader at a time.

TRUTH IN POLITICS

LIGHT IN DARKNESS

PRAYERFUL ACTION

What We Do

Capitol Commission places a qualified and trained State Minister at the Capitol building to minister to the Legislators and staff. We are a religious organization with no political or lobbying agenda and under no specific denomination.

Who We Serve

Most Legislators spend a significant amount of time away from home, especially during Legislative Session. They travel or even have temporary residences close to the Capitol building. They often feel pressured, isolated, and discouraged.

For that reason, Capitol Commission offers trusted spiritual support to these men and women amid the stresses of partisan politics. Our state ministers are men who legislators can trust, and to whom they can turn for Bible study, discipleship, counseling, prayer, and more.

our Impact

Why It Matters

When God changes the heart of a leader, the results are profound.

Indeed, in a time when trust in government is low and political divisions run high, we believe there’s a better way: bringing the hope of the gospel directly to the leaders who shape our laws. Capitol Commission exists to reach the Capitol community for Christ, one person at a time.

But here’s the challenge: most government leaders are spiritually isolated. They face immense pressure, are surrounded by partisan agendas, and rarely encounter the transforming truth of God’s Word. Left unengaged, the moral and spiritual health of our nation suffers.

That’s why we bring biblical hope straight to the Capitol—and into the hearts of those who serve there.

Our Mission

Capitol Commission’s mission is to reach the Capitol community for Christ, one person at a time, to disciple them, and to prepare them for a lifetime of ministry, wherever God chooses to place them.

We follow the biblical call to pray for our leaders and to minister to them personally and persistently—through relational, gospel-centered discipleship in statehouses across the country.

Our Strategy

We serve elected officials and their staff in three key ways:

Prayer

We pray for all and with any of our political leaders. We also host prayer events in capitol buildings across the nation. Many of these are open to the public.

Presence

We are there—in the halls, in the offices, and behind the scenes. Our State Ministers offer encouragement, spiritual counsel, and a listening ear when it’s needed most.

Proclamation

We boldly proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ through verse-by-verse Bible studies held weekly during legislative sessions. These studies are open to lawmakers and staff from both sides of the aisle.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God, profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential through faith in Christ alone.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, the third person of the holy Trinity, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled and empowered to live a godly life.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
