The Alabama State Legislature just finished its third week of session and our new ministry is off to a great start! The Bibles we helped distribute from Understanding the Word ministries were a huge hit and provided a great way for me to break the ice as I introduced Capitol Commission ministry around the State House to the members.
Rep Donna Givens, District 64
Rep Chip Brown, District 105
with Sen Andrew Jones, District 10
with Rep Ernie Yarbrough, District 7
Due to the compressed schedule in our state, breaking in with a new Bible study has not yielded many attendees yet but the printed copies are being well received by all our members thus far. Please keep the ministry of the Word of God in your prayers as we continue through the next few months with an exegesis of the gospel of Luke.
The first Alabama church to provide ministry funding for me is Trinity Presbyterian of Montgomery and this past week Beth and I were able to participate in their annual Mission Market dinner. Capitol Commission Alabama was one of 11 supported mission areas at which we were able to introduce our ministry of presence, prayer, and proclamation. How exciting to see all of the ways the Lord Jesus uses that church to minister to so many people across Montgomery. What a great evening and what an active body of believers there at Trinity!
Prayer Requests:
- A continuation of relationship building toward deep spiritual interactions, which requires favor with our elected officials and developing trust
- Travel mercies for me as I make a roughly 160-mile round trip each day of the session
- Increased support from the churches of Alabama both in prayer and funding
- Please lift up Beth as she continues to experience debilitating pain with different portions of her neck and spine (thankful for the pain management specialists at UAB!)
Thank you for your continued interest and support.
Soli Deo Gloria!
Ron Comoglio, Alabama State Minister, Capitol Commission
