A Capitol Commission State Minister pursues opportunities to deliver the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the governing leaders and staff in the Capitol and cities of his state.
A Significant Need…
Most Legislators spend a significant amount of time away from home, especially during Legislative Session. They travel or even have temporary residences close to the Capitol building.
Our organization recognizes the need for trusted support to these men and women while surrounded by the stresses of politics.
Unfortunately, most State Capitols do not have a staff Pastor or Minister or Chaplain to fill that need.
…Provides an Opportunity
A consistent presence at the State Capitol provides opportunities like Bible study, discipleship, counseling, prayer, and more.
“Capitol Commission is a tremendous asset to our states and our elected officials. We live in challenging times, but their work of leading with humility, acting with integrity, and inspiring grace through faith is critical to moving our communities forward. I pray that we continue to be blessed with such an important ministry.”
Congressman David Scott
“I know of NO MINISTRY having a greater impact for Jesus on America’s elected political leadership than Capitol Commission.”
Democrat Representative Tom Riner, Served 35 yrs, 1984–2019, KY General Assembly

“Believing that the gospel is non-partisan and needed by all, Capitol Commission has the vision of sharing the good news with all who are in government, no matter their political affiliation. Great idea! And Biblical!”
Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer – Pastor, Teacher, Author
What Can You Do?
First, 24 STATE CAPITOLS need a full-time missionary pastor that will bring a pastoral presence to legislators and staff.
Help us find qualified men interested in training as a pastor in the legislative community.
Second, give us an opportunity to share the importance of praying for our legislative leaders and the blessings of this ministry in more detail with you and your flock.
This is ministering with no political or lobbying agenda and under no specific denomination.

Prayer Challenge
Lead your church to carry out the priority action to fight the good fight of faith. Consider again 1Timothy 2:1-4 and make it a priority to pray for your elected leaders in your Sunday morning services. Accept this challenge by a fellow pastor, Pastor Carey Hardy.
