Welcome

Welcome to Capitol Commission Oklahoma!

Our elected legislative members face unique challenges and extraordinary pressures. Regardless of political party, the most needed and meaningful help available is the power of God through prayer and the eternal truth of Scripture.

Capitol Commission is a spiritual resource for our legislators. We demonstrate the love of Jesus, providing Biblical insights through written Bible studies and being present, providing comfort and encouragement.

Join me in praying for all those in authority as the Bible teaches in 1Tim 2:1-4.

It is my honor to serve as the Oklahoma State Minister sharing truth and grace in the State Capitol. I ask for your prayers that the hearts and minds among the leaders serving communities across the state of Oklahoma will be open to the truth of the hope and strength found in Jesus.

Ronnie Wilson

Pastor Ronnie began ministry in Oklahoma in 1997 after graduating with a BA degree in Christian Education. While completing his first Masters degree (MA Theology and Philosophy), he met Shannon. They were married in Yukon, OK, in 2001.

Ronnie and Shannon were called to minister in Tennessee where they served in the Nashville area. Continuing his ministry studies, Ronnie graduated with an M. Div. in 2004. He then began his Doctoral studies and was called to minister in Colorado. While in Colorado, Ronnie and his family founded both a Church and a K-12 Charter School. While pastoring the non-denominational Church he founded, Ronnie served as a Bible College Professor in Colorado Springs teaching Theology, Missiology and Preaching. He also developed and taught a Moral Philosophy course in the school he founded.

Ronnie has served in multiple leadership positions including a para-church organization supporting Bible curriculum in Public Schools. While serving as president of the youth initiative, Ronnie worked with Dr. James Kennedy, senior ADF counsel, and many other nationally recognized and respected leaders.

Ronnie and Shannon have a heart for missions and have engaged communities with the redemptive love of Christ in a vibrant and creative entrepreneurial ministry approach. Committed to the truth of God’s Word and authentic discipleship, Ronnie has made an impact everywhere God has called him.

Having chaired multiple boards and serving in various community leadership roles, Ronnie believes the Gospel has the power to change lives in every context!

“The Gospel’s only limitation is where God’s people fail to share it.”- Pastor Ronnie

Ronnie and Shannon have two sons, Breckten and Talon. The Wilson’s love outdoor activities (camping, hiking, mountain biking and skiing), sports (especially basketball and football), motorsports and classic cars, and serving the Lord together. Shannon was born and raised in Bethany, OK. She has been recognized for excellence in education and multiple leadership successes. Additionally, she has many basketball accolades including MVP awards and Final Four appearances. Ronnie grew up in Atlanta, GA. where his parents and his sister and her family reside.

Ronnie has now answered the call to embody the Gospel in the Oklahoma State Capitol with Capitol Commission. As Oklahoma State Minister, he is excited to engage everyone at the Capitol with the transforming love of Jesus through the ministry of prayer, presence and proclamation!
