Welcome

Welcome to Capitol Commission Kentucky.

It is a privilege for me to serve the Kentucky State Capitol community as the Capitol Commission Kentucky State Minister in fulfillment of Christ’s Great Commission in Matthew 28;19-20 as well as Paul’s exhortation to pray for elected leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-4). I am committed to minister to and pray for everyone from the janitor to our governor at the Kentucky State Capitol.

The primary focus of Capitol Commission is three-fold. First, is the Ministry of Prayer. I encourage all believers, regardless of political ideology or denominational commitment to pray for each and every legislator and staff in our state capitol. One key resource in this regard is subscribing for free at https://www.pray1tim2.org/ where you can pray each day for our elected officials. Secondly, we are committed to the Ministry of Presence. Engaging with leaders and staff regularly to share the gospel, meet needs, and make disciples is a vital work of the ministry. The third priority is the Ministry of Proclamation. Gospel clarity and witness are important. This is primarily accomplished through weekly Bible studies for both legislators and staff as well as offering free resources.

Through the means of these priorities, I hope to see the gospel of Christ accomplish three things. First, Redemption among the lost. The only hope of the world is the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is my prayer that all we encounter may come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Secondly, Reconciliation. The gospel brings with it unity rooted in love. Given the divided context, it is my prayer to see our identity found first in Christ and through the gospel, genuine unity, love, and reconciliation take place. Finally, Relationships. What unites believers is not political ideology but salvation in Jesus Christ. Through discipleship, I hope to see genuine believers build relationship that reproduce in our communities.

If you would like to learn more about my ministry here, click the various links to the left. You can download all of our Bible studies, sign up to pray for our elected officials, and give as the Lord leads.

“For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.” 1 Corinthians 2:2

Kyle McDanell

Kyle McDanell is the state minister in Kentucky with Capitol Commission and the pastor of East Frankfort Baptist Church in Frankfort, Kentucky.

Prior to serving at Capitol Commission and East Frankfort Baptist Church, Kyle pastored Goshen Baptist Church in Falls of Rough, KY for six years. Before Goshen, he was the associate/youth minister at Greenup Fork Baptist Church in Owenton, KY for 5 years

Kyle received a B.S. in Biblical & Theological Studies from Boyce College. He also studied at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary completing an Advanced Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology in Systematic Theology.

Kyle has been married to Amanda McDanell, his high school sweetheart, since July 2006. Together they have two children; a son named Elijah and a daughter named Evangeline

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man[a] Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-7
